Kotare Wines are made by the Riversleigh Estate, started in 1998 by two friends who met while farming in Scotland.
Their Kotare label honours the Maori name for the Sacred Kingfisher, a native bird attracted to Gibsons creek which runs throughout their vineyard in the Wairau Valley.
