Wines from Château de la Tour Clos-Vougeot are classified among Burgundy’s Grand Cru. Their great quality is unanimously recognized by both wine-lovers and wine journalists.

Created by Cistercian monks between the 12th and 14th Century, the Grand Cru Appellation Clos – Vougeot is Burgundies most iconographic vineyard and well-known wine, with its wall-enclosed vineyard and commanding Château de Clos de Vougeot.

Film buffs and gourmands will recall Clos – Vougeot 1845 was the featured wine in the exquisite film Babette’s Feast.

The Chateau de la Tour was built in 1890 to house the crop of the Clos – Vougeot which had been entirely bought by ancestors of the present owners.

The Clos – Vougeot Chateau de la Tour wines are well balanced wines which are distinguished by their elegance. Their colour is a deep ruby-red which characterizes the Grand Cru of Burgundy issued by the noblest of all varietals: PINOT NOIR. Their elegant bouquet and flavours of “truffles, liquorice, violet and wild mint” develop harmoniously with age.
